Dr. Neil Freedman, MD
Neil Freedman, MD is the division head of pulmonary, critical care, allergy and immunology in the Department of Medicine at the NorthShore University Health System in Evanston, Il. Within the NorthShore System, Dr. Freedman also serves as the medical director of one of the system’s two sleep labs and is a member of the steering committee that oversees the NorthShore sleep program. Dr. Freedman has an international reputation in the areas of medical education and leadership. He has served on the scientific program committees for the American Academy of Sleep Medicine AASM and the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP) and was the recent chair of the scientific program committee for the ACCP Annual CHEST 2016 meeting. Within the ACCP, he has served as the chair of the sleep network, has been a recent member of the education committee and steering committee member of the council of networks and is currently on the Board of Trustees of the CHEST Foundation. He has served as faculty at many national and international meetings and has given over 250 lectures that cover the spectrum of sleep medicine and the business of medicine. He most recently received the Excellence in Education Award from the AASM at the Annual 2016 Sleep Meeting in Denver, CO.
